You're mistakenly conflating the Persian mindset with our other Islamist enemies, such as ISIS, Al Qaeda, etc. Persians, generally, do not see themselves as America's enemies and will not begrudge the attack. They are themselves captives of the theocratic Islamists and are celebrating America's support.

Regarding the depletion of ammunition stocks: certainly true in the short term, but as we see how fast they are used up, it seems that reestablishing secure production capacity is far more important than maintaining reserves. Wouldn't requisitions to restock, and a credible signal that we will continue to use and order more down the line, be necessary to incentivize investment?
